I have been taking aerial photographs for many years and in the last few
years they have all been digital images. All of my older images are
slowly being digitalized and archived. My hope is to get them all
converted to make for easier sharing but this is going to be a long slow
process. We are talking about literally thousands of photos.
I was born and raised in the little town of
Essington
Pa.
Practically in my backyard, was the oldest seaplane base in the country.
(est.1915). After my first ride ( June, 1950) in a Piper Cub on
floats, I was hooked. The owner and instructor, Bob Mills, took me
through the course to obtain my license. I soon learned that flying as
much as I wanted to, was expensive. Mr. Bob suggested aerial
photography. ( I have placed a link to the base on my home page) I
rarely get in an airplane with out my camera, as a matter of fact,
I take my camera most everywhere I go. My photography is not all from
the air. Over the years I have traveled around the world as a merchant
seaman for Sun Oil and later ran sport fishing as well as commercial
fishing / clamming vessels.
Most of my photos are of the
Delmarva Peninsula.
Worcester County,
Md.
(and bordering counties) are especially beautiful from the air. The
DVD
I've created of
Ocean
City,
is the first of of many projects, God willing. Jim Whaley (443-359-3010)
